Women's Tennis Starts Conference Play with a Win over Vaughn, 7-2

QUEENS, N.Y. - September 23, 2018 - The Pratt Institute women's tennis team started off conference play with a victory Sunday afternoon, beating Vaughn College at the USTA National Tennis Center, 7-2. 

With the victory, the Cannoneers move to 6-2 overall, after dropping their previous match to Purchase.

Pratt's Amanda Twu defeated her Vaughn opponent, 10-2, from the first singles slot, and Isabel Campbell, Amy Young, Caroline Madden, and Melanie Kania were all victorious as well in their singles matches.

The Cannoneers found success during doubles, behind the play of Kania and Twu, who won 10-2, and Young and Madden, who won 8-0.

Up Next: Pratt will return to action on Thursday, September 27th, when they host conference opponent Berkeley College (NY). First serve with the Knights is scheduled for 7 PM.
