Women's Tennis Cruises over Yeshiva University, 8-0

FLUSHING, N.Y. - September 2, 2018 - The Pratt Institute women's tennis team was dominant Sunday afternoon against Yeshiva University, winning 8-0 on the Queens College Tennis Courts.

With the victory, the Cannoneers advances to 2-0, while the Maccabees drop to 0-1, who the reigning Skyline Conference champions, and were the preseason favorites to repeat as well.

Pratt was lead by strong play from Melanie Kania and Amy Young, who won their doubles match (8-3), and won their singles matches from the first and second singles positions.

Kania needed a super tiebreaker to defeat Yeshiva's Bailey Frohlich, which she won 12-10, and Young cruised to win 6-0, 6-1.

The Cannoneers were impressive during the doubles play, as the duo of Maia Schlussel and Caroline Madden (8-1) and Isabel Campell and Eesha Jain (8-2) were too much for Yeshiva to handle.

Up Next: Pratt will look to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2013, as they host Mt. St. Mary (N.Y.) on Friday, September 7th, in the ARC Building at 7:00 PM.
